Cecilie Manz (b.1972) is a Danish industrial designer based in Copenhagen. She is considered one of the leading Danish furniture designers of her generation. In addition to furniture and industrial products, Manz’s experimental prototypes and sculptural one-offs are an important aspect of her work and approach. Her design philosophy revolves around simplicity and the process of working towards pure, aesthetic and narrative objects.
Manz has designed with many global brands including Fritz Hansen, Muuto and George Jensen Damask. Her work has been shown internationally and is part of a permanent exhibition at MOMA and the Danish Design Centre. Throughout her illustrious career, she has received many prestigious awards including the Danish Crown Prince Couple’s Culture Award for her contribution to design in 2014.
