The will to transform even the most everyday object into the focus of desire inspires the fluid work of Swiss/British product designer Dominic Symons. Dominic began his art and design studies in England before attending Art Center (Europe) in Switzerland. After finishing his studies in Industrial Design at Art Center College of Design in California, he graduated in 1996.
Dominic and his creative art direction studio Bluelounge quickly gained international recognition for projects ranging from furniture and interior design to footwear and snowboarding equipment. Recently he has designed a brand new line of footwear called Etura, building this new brand from ground up with the design of the identity, packaging and all the shoes in the line.
Dominic also designed the identity image for Totem Design (USA), the chaise lounge I'm Dreaming for Maxdesign, lighting for Flötotto (Germany) and snowboard boots and bindings for Airwalk. Professional recognition includes the California Design Biennale 2003, Cascina International Furniture Design Award and the IDSA/Businness Week Silver Award, along with numerous international publications.
