Jukka Korpihete is a young Finnish designer specialized in lighting design. He is working widely in the lighting field. Most of his projects are public spaces such as churches, hotels, offices and facades. He is also working on industrial design projects with various international customers. For Woodnotes Korpihete created innovative Hut light inspirited by Ritva Puotila’s Open Sky fabric.
Jukka Korpihete works in his own company Korpihete Ltd and has produced luminaire collection Byrolights. These luminaries, like his commercial works, are often considered as light art pieces and they play with shapes of light and shadows. Jukka Korpihete has had numerous private exhibitions in museums and design centres. In 2006 Jukka Korpihete was awarded Young Designer of the Year 2006 together with Mikko Paakkanen. In 2007 he was awarded with the Avotakka design price.
