after graduating in 1973, she works as art director for centrokappa, dealing with the development of the brand identity, promotional tools, points of purchase and special events. she also started collaborating with alessandro mendini at the magazine “modo”. in the early ‘80s she cooperates with alchimia, sottsass, branzi, guerriero, knoll international. from 1982 to 1984 she designs objects for alessi, becomes a consultant to abet laminati, takes part in a research focused on the theme of innovation and led by guido jannon with the marketing staff of régie renault. she holds lectures at the faculty of architecture in the universities of reggio calabria and florence. the years between 1985 and 1988 mark a turning point in her approach to creativity: she becomes an advisor to unido e banca mondiale with the task of conceiving and carrying out both the product policy and the brand image for filippine, indonesia, malesia, thailandia. such activity gives rise to a lot of conventions and exhibitions. from 1995 to 1999 she is involved in several installations and exposition designs for driade; she creates the line otto for gervasoni, the beds andaman, cicladi, ebridi for orizzonti, the collections lune and grass for arcade, furnishing fr oltrefrontiera, items for casamilano. she also designs the jewellery boutique of piero milano. the collaboration with pitti immagine casa, for which paola navone has been organizing a lot of expositions, can be traced back to these years. from 2000 to 2004 antonangeli, dada, molteni, natuzzi, roche bobois e swarovski join the list of her clients. in 2002, she is entrusted by the fondazione del libro based in turin with the project for the exhibition “per filo e per segno”, dedicated to italian excellence in the field of applied arts. in 2003, together with abet laminati, she is in charge of the exhibition “digitalprint: una nuova generazione di superfici 2003”, (milano triennale). architect, designer, interior decorator and artist, paola navone likes being referred to as a curios and open-minded citizen of the world. her multi-faceted activities blend the colourful culture of the south with an acute taste for dynamic forms which is typically occidental.
