Peter Svarrer is also called the Master of Light because he creates glass designs based on capturing and reflecting light in the very special way that only glass can achieve. He has worked with glass in his own workshop since 1982.
When Peter Svarrer and Holmegaard started working together in 1997, it became the beginning of a fruitful and productive partnership that is still developing and producing new shapes and colours.
Peter Svarrer has a love of glass as a material and of the organic forms that characterise his designs.
“When I work on new designs in glass, I always concentrate on the nature of the glass. Glass as a material is just very good at communicating my organic mode of expression. It can be a very simple idea, such as for the Cocoon wine glass range where I wanted to add a sensuous experience when you touch the stem of the wine glass. That is why Cocoon was created with its organic and curved shapes”.
For Holmegaard, Peter Svarrer has created the Cocoon, Future, Cabernet, The Northern Lights and Reflections ranges as well as lamps for the Island and Cocoon ranges.
