The Australian photographer Vee Speers took portrait photos of several children at an imaginary birthday party.

The poetic photos are shot at eye level, drawing the viewer into the children’s world – a world that evokes conflicting emotions somewhere between fantasy and real life. 

We love the dramatic elements that depict both the playful innocence and the not always flawless state of childhood.

Vee Speers

Vee Speers (b. 1962)  was born in Australia. She lives in Paris, exhibits all over the world and often appears in international magazines and newspapers such as the French magazine  Images, The Sunday Times UK and Elle Decoration. 

As a result of our collaboration, we carry four of Vee Speers’s photo series: ‘The Birthday Party’, ‘Thirteen’, Botanica' and 'Bulletproof'.
